Killers of a Certain Age

Killers of a Certain Age

Inrtruguing premise, per the blurbs. Popped up in numerous feeds, mostly Apple, Amazon, and the two libraries (San Antonio Public Library and Bexar Bibliotech). Think: Charlie’s Angels, the movie one at the Alamo Drafthouse.

The set-up? It’s about a retiring group of assassins, except the killers are a woman-only squad of deadly characters, and all of a certain age, hence the title. But we get to a point, in life, and the old bones just don’t react as well as they used to.

Light and fluffy dialogue with commentary about fashion, wine, and hot flashes associated with aging, sure, all of that. And killing, with flashbacks to when it was the glory days, and it was easier to sneak by security.

The flashbacks are carefully crafted to fit and fill in details. Rather well strung together novel plot line. Besides, as I’ve learned, with age comes a certain invisibility.

Nice spin, alternative thread on a crime novel.

“Little, old ladies” can be dangerous, or even deadly.

Respect.
