Strange recollection, but one of my early Shakespeare professors, an individual who inspired me greatly, he was completely dismissive of Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost. Something to the effect that it was vast collection of poetry than only barely told a story. Think his “Ivory Tower” claim was the play was a weak offering.
Someplace, I thought had a mention of Kenneth Branagh’s version, done as a interregnum musical. Fun bit of song and dance, although, I don’t know that it, the play, really requires that. Some of the poetry itself sparkles.

Well-played by the players, and for all my previous exposure, especially as a source for February quotes? The acting carried the play into the realm of understanding, with the performance of the individual cast members, and as a fairly cohesive whole, the ensemble brought meaning to the play.
Damn sure better than old professor’s point of view.
Great stuff under a retrograde Mercury.
