Odd pea gravel

I was avoiding serious work, the web is a handy tool for that, and I happened across a post I must’ve missed last winter. Yes, the heavens do align.

4 Sale:

Royal Fez Moroccan Tarot
Royal Fez Moroccan Tarot – officially, this deck isn’t ‘Out Of Print,’ but unofficially, it’s harder and harder to find. It’s fairly close in its interpretation of the standard Rider-Waiter vision, with a few differences. The pip cards are not numbered. The imagery is lightly colored, and most, if not all, of the figures are blondes. Probably why I liked this deck at one time.

The cards are coated with a matte finish, and they are standard size, a little less than 3 inches wide and a little less than 5 inches long. The kicker in this deal is on the box, the US Game System’s address is the old NYC address. That, in and of itself, doesn’t mean lot, but it also indicates the age of the cards, and it indicates the rarity of the deck. These cards are used; however, they are in excellent condition with no bends or breaks. The corners of the box are a little worn. Booklet is included.

Soul man:

Soul Cards by Deborah Koff-Chapin
The Soul Cards offered up here are from my own, personal collection. I can’t provide provenance, other than I’ve owned this deck for well over a decade or more. The cards fall under the taxonomy of “Creativity, Spirituality, Divination.” I – mistakenly – assumed that these Soul Cards were inspired by the work of William Blake. While some of the images might be reminiscent of Blake’s work, the likeness stop there with my own, fervid imagination.

This deck, and the minimalist book that accompanies it are published by “The Center for Touch Drawing.” Copyright goes to the author mentioned. Date is 1995, on the printed material. What makes this deck different is that it’s not under the US Game System’s banner – yet. Looks like the cards were brought into that catalog, much later.

It is not a traditional tarot deck in any way, shape or form, even the cards are an odd size, roughly 4 inches by 5 inches. There are 60 cards, and the accompanying material doesn’t include divinatory meanings for the cards. Certainly a powerful tool in the right hands.
