    Horoscopes for 8-19-2025

    The Leo

The LeoThere’s a fiery urgency to correct previous mistakes. Look: I am not without sin, myself. I want to rush into the past and correct previous errors. I want to hop back in time, and render a better outcome, prove that I could make a better decision, and fix broken stuff. The problem, dear, majestic Leo, the problem? We can’t go back and fix the past. It’s done with. Over. Fin. — 30 — Got that? Instead of setting up in the old Leo history? Think about it like this, and this Mars, Mercury, and soon? Venus. But think about it like this, “Wasn’t my finest hour, but I did get it done.” Glance back, realize what works, what doesn’t work, and moving forward? Follow me, and let’s make some new mistakes. Let’s not repeat the past. No “wild-goose chase,” as Mercutio suggests.

    Virgo

Find a street vendor, food cart with an open flame and a long line. Simple as that. It showed up in a notion about baseball food, but after a little thought, it applies across a broader set of terms. Look for a food cart with an open flame, and a long line. Both are clues. For many years, and even to this day, there are couple of taco joints I frequent because there is a long line, and open flame. In one situation, I’ve never seen the open flame, but I can taste it on the charred meat — the fajitas. The answer to the pressing Virgo questions? Find a street vendor, a food cart with a long line, and an open flame. Cures much. Well, won’t “cure” anything, but fixes a lot.

    Libra

It’s not exactly binary, but we can try and reduce the inputs so it appears as a simpler situation. A professional buddy of mine taught (maybe still does) “pendulum.” It was for dousing, directions, and simple intuition clarity. Another buddy suggests, “I asked the rock on the string,” because, to him, that’s what it looks like. It’s also, in some cases, a very effective tool. Establish a baseline for the “yes” and “no” answers, then ask the question, or visualize the question, and the two answers, and then let the pendulum swing and answer. I’ve carried variations of “a rock on string” for most of this career because pendulums are good for dousing, and good as a reminder that I can access my own, internal answers with a simple, meditative moment. To this day, I still carry some kind of pendulum in my “work” gear. Just force of habit, and although I rarely, if ever, actually use the pendulum? As token gesture, as a touchstone, it’s most valuable, ever reminding me that answers are easier than we make them out to be. Just try and trust that the correct answer appears. Answer requires some kind of action, hence the use of a pendulum — helps to have a toy to play with.

    Scorpio

“Hi Kramer,” cheery little soul said to me as I stopped at a place for a quick bite, “you here with friends again?” No, solo, on my way to points north see a feller about a dog, but not germane to this Scorpio point. I got a confused look from the young lady, the hostess, waitress, I used to work with her mother, and I’ve known that child since she — long time. More confusion on her part, “I thought I saw you here, with a some group, last, oh, it was next week.” True because it wasn’t last week, I was much further south. What amused me, and made me think of Scorpio? That unglued in momentary reality, and confusing next week with last week. In all honesty, I have no known plans to be there next week, either, but I’ll take a future-shot rather than a past-mistake. Learn from my encounter, take a future possibility, Scorpio, over a past error.

    Sagittarius

Hanging around old Austin, not the current iteration, but the mythical “Good Old Days?” I had a girlfriend, and I recall her showing me the scope on her deer rifle. She suggested we could go deer hunting if I had a valid license — during the next fall season. Never happened, but made me acutely aware of the supply chain for food, and the number of people who are unwilling to harvest animals for meat. For me? I’ve never been deer hunting. Not my thing. Not because I’m pure and only eat vegetables, no, that’s not it. It’s too early and typically, it’s way too cold. I’ll stick to fishing. There are two problems we face in Sagittarius land, one is simply understanding how the supply chain works from inception to production to winding up in front of our Sagittarius faces. The other part of this? Every year, when I renew my fishing license, I get a deer hunting material loaded onto my account because once, decades past, I did sign up for that deer ticket. One time, and almost thirty years later, “You want to add a deer ticket to that?”

    Capricorn

“I was 12 years old when I learned there were onions in onions rings.” It was an intended “overheard” conversation. The guy making the statement was making sure he was heard by everyone. Almost like a stage voice, and for some people, in sales, it’s like being on stage. I was much impressed by his banter and presentation — I like watching when people are good at what they do. There is also that shred of truth in every fabrication, and therein is really what I suggest we look out for, in Capricorn land. It’s that shred of truth in every fabrication? That poignant point that starts out with truth but veers off to the impossible? It’s the sales pitch that starts out with facts, but as we get closer to closing the deal, it gets more and more improbable. But start with that single shred of truth.

    Aquarius

New Moons offer new beginnings. This one is especially potent because it aligns, in a weird way, with other elements, and this creates a ticklish balance point. Veer the wrong way, and the scales tips wildly out of favor for Aquarius. So the best way? Two parts, act contrite. Might not be an act, the genuine Aquarius contritions might be honest. Doesn’t matter if it is, or isn’t, but act contrite. That’s the first. The second part is about assessing what needs to be done. Act contrite then assess what needs to be done. Make plans, say you’re sorry then make plans to be a better is the simplest way to look at it, even that simple? Maybe dress it up or dress it down, but change its attire. Approach the problem with a degree of “I am so sorry,” but… Then? Offer a plan to correct the problem, the challenge, the obstacle we all face. But suggest sorrow, first.

    Pisces

When I moved into to the place I’m currently living? It had a built-in microwave oven, decent late-model. When the clock is working, the digital display, it suggests at the end of the timed sequence, “Your food is ready.” That scroll stays active until the door has been opened and shut. Not really a new device and not really a new addition to the builder’s standard built-in microwave, but certainly new to me. Some mornings, my first coffee will be reheated leftover, an anathema to a purists, but functional, quick, and to the point. The start to Virgo, the end of Aries, and what stands between for Pisces? “Your food is ready,” and this addresses my morning coffee. I think of it as a necessary food source. Technically, though, coffee is just a beverage, but I’ve been assured every morning for the last few years, “Your food is ready.” Necessary? Necessary evil? Sustenance? Which one is it, for Pisces?

    Aries

It’s, well, it’s like church group, ok? Think like that, a non-profit I’m tangentially associated with, and one that I refuse to sit on the board, make decisions, or exert any kind of ruling effort. The minutes from the last business meeting came through the other day, and there’s a new woman in charge. I really like her, no nonsense when it comes to running a business meeting. Agenda items, rules of order, and if a speaker gets sidetracked, she bangs that gavel quickly. If I knew she would always be there? I might consider a term as a board member, but I know she’s only there for the next year, and after that? It will quickly devolve into the usual benign chaos most volunteer boards became. I’ve long experience, now, with this sort of situation. Not worth my sanity and peace of mind to get too involved with the policies and petty politics of the organization. I admire and applaud the efforts of the volunteers, but I have to ask, is my own sanity worth the effort, and could I make lasting, positive change? Likewise, for Aries, can you make lasting, positive change, or is this just a place where people are people, and we’re better off not involved?

    Taurus

I recall a Texas Land Man recounting stories about backroads, signing oil leases with locals. He joked about how he carried a “Road Closed” sign in his trunk, to effectively shut out the competition. I was thinking about that “Road Closed” sign, and when the city was working around the corner from here, with a similar “Road Closed” sign up. At least one (Taurus) neighbor inched around the “Road Closed” sign only to discover, in fact, the road was effectively sealed off as there was big ditch in the middle of the pavement, not really traversable by any vehicle — water repairs or something. I’m not suggesting there is a closed road for Taurus, but I am suggesting that signs, unlike that Texas Land Man, I’m suggesting the signs are in place to help protect and expedite the proper Taurus route. Pay attention to the obvious signs, and unlike my first notion, the signs are not always a distraction from a stated goal, from a stated Taurus goal.

    Gemini

The Sun slipping into Virgo? There’s a resounding “bump” that goes with the astrological event. Felt like an old staple for Gemini? Well, yes. This is a little more pronounced of a bump than usual, and normally? Not that big of deal, but with Pluto, Uranus, and just last week, Mars? This adds a punctuation that might not be entirely welcome in Gemini. But? “Everything happens for a reason.” Sure, there is that ideological stance, and while I mostly agree with it, that reasoning is sometimes less than clear, and what this is about? How what lies ahead looks like an impenetrable obstacle might really be a container to keep Gemini safe from what’s on the other side. Or what’s captured inside. It’s not an obstacle, that gets triggered when the Sun slips into Virgo, no, that’s not it. It’s a momentary pause built in by the planets to keep that gentle Gemini from rushing headlong into a problem that may — or may not — exist.

    Cancer

    Almost to a letter, every one of my “new age” holistic practitioner friends talks about “downloads.” I’m too old for this game, as I recall when a download was data received from a distant source, and assembled on one’s own computer. With broadband and related “internet upgrades,” this is really no longer a thing. Used to be, there was a little image, as status bar of some ilk gradually crept forward. Those days are gone, but in a metaphorical approach, my metaphysical friends co-opted that terminology, and reused to convey a way that universal knowledge and awareness was passed down to us mortals. “Got a bunch of downloads in meditation,” or “got a big download last night when I was sleeping.” I’ve heard variations on this for decades now, all easily borrowed from there golden days of personal computers. What this stands for? Varies. What this means, for the gentle sign of the crab, the Moon Children moving into this next week? Be quiet, be respectful, and take note of what occurs. The dark of the moon is fraught with implications, and trying to ascertain exactly what is incoming data, and what is already onboard, native Cancer information? Can’t sort that out just yet. kofiwidget2.init(‘Support me on Ko-fi’, ‘#72a4f2’, ‘O5O73OYCL’);kofiwidget2.draw();
