Twin Macro Study

by El Muchacho Alegre on September 9, 2010

Only so much can be done with a phone camera, despite the advances in technology. That disclaimer noted, in Bubba’s Back Yard, in El Paso, TX, I caught the morning image as I was searching for a shadow shot, or a close-up of the hibiscus as it was opening. When that first image didn’t adequately – or to my satisfaction – catch the image, I tended to other business, like building Grace’s webpage, which I knew would be a problem since Mercury was retrograde, but still not an issue.

We took a coffee break in the backyard, and I got the second shot. Same flower, same location, just a an hour later, maybe less, maybe more. I didn’t pay a lot of attention to the time.

Kind of cool.

For a camera phone, the photo does comes out great! Hibiscus is the National Flower of Malaysia, and they are plentiful around my neighbourhood here in Singapore,as we are tropical country and Hibiscus needs plenty of sunshine to bloom all year long.

That’s my flower–deep glossy green leaves, brilliant petals springing out of the dark foliage. Yes.

nice flower – hibiscus are really showy bloomers. Now that they days are getting shorter here they stop flowering.
