"Things in motion sooner catch the eye
Than what stirs not."
Ulysses in Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida (III.iii.96)

Astrological overview: Mercury rights himself, but he does get down to the very last degree of Libra before this happens. Hang on tight, it's the usual mayhem from that corner of the sky. Mars shifts from Virgo to Libra, and Venus swings out of carefree Sagittarius into more serious Capricorn. Sagittarius begins in the later part of the month, too, and that is always a time for celebration.

Aries : You have one those little tension headaches building this month. It's like there's something there, but you can't quite place a finger on the point that hurts. Mars, maybe Venus, or even the sun is the cause of this pain. In fact, at one point this month, you're going to be pretty sure that all of the planets are lined up in some sort of grand, unified "thang" to make you miserable. It's not really a case of being miserable, though, because the closer you get to the end of the month, the better it gets. You do have some stuff which needs to be addressed, though, and this looks, for all the world, like romance stuff. Except for one fisherman who likes to kiss his catch, I'm not sure that a proper fishing allegory would really work here. And that guy, as near as I can tell, only kisses his catch when the camera is rolling. It's not like he does it all the time. In the same realm of ideas, you've got something going on in the romance department, and it needs your attention. However, unlike that that one "fishing star" you don't need to kiss your catch when the camera is rolling. In fact, I would strive for just the opposite. Watch out for that telltale blinking red light, and make sure that you know what you're doing before you kiss what you catch. This is brought to you as a friendly service announcement from the love planets.

Taurus : Little disruptions rule this month. Not big ones, mind you, although, every little problem is nothing more than a major disaster looking for a way to get out of its small problem box. The trick with handling a month like this is to take it all in stride. Every last one of those Mercury Retrograde warnings will come through. The point to astrology is being forewarned about all this. So that's several warning notices that you've received at this point, deal with it. There are no big, major honking problems this month. There are tons of little misfires. This month is like working on an old truck, much like the one sitting outside my trailer. Replace one part with new pieces, and then another part breaks. This can be heartbreaking work, or it can be a constant state of renewal. Point of view and perspective is important. On this truck, it's the electrical, the cooling system, and the carburetor this month. The in and out stuff. More like the "in" stuff because it got a new muffler last month. There really shouldn't be anything that would strand you by the side of the road this month, but you will spend a little bit more time than usual going back tightening up nuts and bolts that you figured were secure. However, the best choice of material for this month might really be duck tape, Nothing holds all this little stuff together than a couple of turns of duct tape.

Gemini : There are two influences I would like to look at. (Gemini, Twins, "double your pleasure," and so forth). Jupiter is retrograde in your sign, and that usually indicates a "slow down" effect on some of your business dealings. Likewise, Mercury is also retrograde and he's also going to have a mischievous effect on your business communications. In some branches if astrology, this would look like a romantic entanglement. Here at the office, though, I'm pretty sure this is business. It's not a big problem, but it is a time when you would certainly benefit from taking a long, hard look at your projections for the month, and making some of those necessary "adjustments" to the projected income and the amount of time necessary to reach the stated goals. Things are going to take longer than you plan -- and it's not really your Gemini fault, but other folks are going to have a tough time understanding why you're in such a big hurry (and apparently getting no where). Of course, in the normal, not accelerated Gemini time, the little planet moves around, and once it gets itself right, there will be a small improvement. By the time Mercury changes directions, around the middle of the month, you're going to notice that there's a gentle upswing in some events which will lead you to think that the holidays are going to be okay. They will. Just don't forget to adjust some of your Gemini market projections towards a more realistic level.

Cancer : Once again, we're off on a giant roller coaster ride. Maybe we're off on the "Tilt - a - Whirl" or even the "Spinning Tea Cups." To some, it might appear like this is a time when the gentle Cancer digestive tract is a little upset by the high dosage of Chili Powder and Cayenne in the food. In parts of Texas, the correct application of peppers is an important part of the meal, it is done with a certain holy reverence. However, I would suggest that this is a month when it's a good idea to shy away from the more piquant and delicious varieties of food. Or other things that add a degree of spice to your life. It's not you at all, it's the planets, see, and the one that I am most concerned about its going to be running over you in way that's not exactly nice. Of course, there is an upside to this planet combination of Mars, Libra and you: choices. Carefully look over the dinner menu. Carefully consider what it is that you want to subject your dear Cancer heart to at a time like this. Consider what is important, nutritionally viable, and what is a spice that you can do without. There are some spices which are good for you. Other spices have great metaphysical importances. Some foods are nothing more than fuel -- tasteless, but good for you. So yes, you've got some decisions to make this month. I realize that the bland menu offerings from the planets right now doesn't exactly excite your Cancer taste buds, but the safer selections are the important ones this month.

Leo : Leo is far and away the best sign in the zodiac, the most creative, the most artistic, the best looking Fixed Fire Sign. Therein is the problem, too, because this month has a number of little challenges to your world view, the way you see things, and you're going to feel like half this month plunges you into a pit of despair. But like a friendly fire bird rising from the ashes (Phoenix like, if you will) there will be a great day coming, and before the month is up, that burning pit of despair becomes something just the opposite. When a Leo makes a mistake IS NOT a time to laugh. The only time ANYONE should laugh at a Leo is when that Leo tells a joke. Or does an intentional pratfall. But part of this month, you're going to feel like people are laughing at you, and it's not something you did on purpose. Bear with me, my fine Leo companion, guess what? Before the end of the month, I promise, verily, I say unto thy Mighty Leo self: you will get the last laugh. (I learned a long time ago, never, ever cross a Leo.)

Virgo : Relief comes in many forms. To some kind Virgo souls, it will be the fact that Mercury does get straightened up. For other nice Virgo's, it's another influence, equally nice. But there is a small problem, as the traditional American holiday time approaches, there's a sense of foreboding, an underlying tension with the last weeks of November. Best solution? I have to delve deep into my own experiences to suggest the best use of this time, and I can only hope that it translates across borders. The holiday is called Thanksgiving (coincidentally, a frequent important birthday around here as well). It's a time when American's celebrate something and the folks in England pretty well ignore it. Business as usual on the other side of the pond. Now, the best place to be, if you're of American decent, is across the pond. Avoid the crush of the holiday mess. Avoid the traditions. Enjoy a place that is relatively tranquil and peaceful at his time. I've done it before, and it's the best use of the vacation time. The United Kingdom isn't crowed, and you don't have to suffer with family and friends over some dead bird carcass. Makes it ever so much more enjoyable, peaceful, and restful. So for the upcoming holiday madness, get away. You'll thank me next month.

Libra : Mars is a planet that fills us full of activity. For the past month or so, he's been floating around in the sign that comes before you. In this kind of an action, he's not really in a good place for you. Shortly after the month of November starts, though, he comes barreling into Libra. And this is going to set up a time when activity, especially physical activity, seems to take the first priority. Get out. circulate. Whatever you do, don't spend time at home, sitting in front of the television set. It reminds me of a time of dark depression in my life when I spent hours arguing with talk show hosts. Of course, since they were on the screen, I seriously doubt that anyone ever heard besides the guy who lives in the trailer next to mine. There's no reason the argue with something or somebody who isn't listening. Anything is better than sitting inside and pandering to passive entertainment. Mars gives you a full schedule, so get out and make the most of it. The end of the month has a bizarre little twist to it, as well, so know that you presence is going to be required at some point.

Scorpio : Mercury will be with you almost all month long. He does drop off into Libra for a brief, almost stationary time, but then he turns around and starts his forward march. What this means, id that around the middle of the month, he starts to undo all of his mischief. There will be relief, and there will be happiness in Scorpio. Now, there's another influence that I wonder about, and that's Mr. Mars. Remember last time? Well, he's back (almost). As long as Mars is in Libra, I cannot stress enough how you have to be careful. Mars will cause all sorts of things to pop out of your mouth. Nothing is worse than having to go back and say, "I'm sorry, but you were right..." So between Mars and the errant Mercury, watch what you say. There is some delightful ways to put this energy to work for you in a positive way, and when I figure it all out, I'll let you know. Just don't say anything this month without considering ALL of the ramifications of your statements.

Sagittarius : I was carefully pursuing the Sagittarius chart for the month, and some people have suggested that I lavish a little too much attention on us (compared to other signs, I suppose). I'm not sure that's true, but I do tend to spin Sagittarius in way that I can understand it, and something that will be useful to me. I was busy teasing some echoes out of the Archer's charts for the month. It's a very tired expression, but -- "the course of true love never did run smooth." More than person has suggested that Sagittarius true love might be best if the person was treated to a road grader, and maybe that would make true love run smooth. I think it's a little bit of a hasty decision, myself. But heavy machinery and true love are the distant, mournful cries in he night as I look at the charts for what the planets are doing. It's not like there's a single, strong influence that can be pointed to. But there's a whole lot of little stuff that starts to add up, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Scorpio, Capricorn, Libra, Aquarius. These are not random numbers and names, but indications that there is something of a romantic revival going on in your life. It's not something that will hit you in the face, but if you're careful this month, you can feel the gentle influence.

Capricorn : We have some tough decisions to make this month in the world of the Sea Goat. Get over the little Mercury Retrograde thing, and get over it fast. Of course, the more I suggest that a single, itty bitty planet could be causing you trouble, you are inclined to look at the bigger picture. So save the Mercury Tales for the next time we get together. But do pay strict attention to the Mars things that are going on. He's almost as tricky as Mercury at times, and as long as he's in Libra, where he spends most of this month, he's a sure source of some consternation. Between these two planets whose names begin with "M," you've got your astrological hands full. There are, of course, some other influences, but I'd pay attention to the details of these two. Mars is suggesting that you either fish or cut bait. That's the polite term. And Mercury is suggesting that you stop and think about it first. The first half of the month, I would listen to Mercury more than anything else. That means think about a course of action. In fact, I would draw up a plan on a chalkboard or scrap paper. Be prepared to revise the plan because there's a good chance it will change before you get to implement this great idea. By the second half of the month, though, get ready to swing into action and keep that set of plans nearby. You're going to making a a lot of last minute changes. Doesn't mean it's bad, just means the normal and ordered process needs to be adjusted during run time.

Aquarius : This month is going to start with s sudden little dosage of a thing that is often referred to as "reality." That's going to make you pretty uncomfortable. My long and rather tenuous connection with this thing called "reality" is documented is elsewhere. At some point, you'll find that we do both enjoy a different way of viewing some of the recent events. The so-called "real world" is going to try and insert itself into your world view at the beginning of the month. You can't ignore it, although, I've found that's sometimes an effective solution -- ignore it long enough, and it'll go away. Regrettably, I don't figure that little ruse will work this month. Whatever "it" is, "it" is here to stay. Now, there's also some good news. That reality stuff which so inconveniently inserted itself into your world at the beginning of the month is going to find a happy medium, maybe even a a happy large, and that's where you find a solution to the problem. The difficult part of this task is fast talk in between the problem at the beginning of the month and the solution at the end of the month. That, my fine Aquarius friend, that's up to you.

Pisces : Very early on, in the beginning of the month, there's a shift in a particular planet, and this should bring a degree of relief to most of the Pisces I know. In fact, not that I'm thinking about particular person (but you know who you are), this is a good thing for you. Mars shifts out of Virgo and traipses right on into Libra. This works rather well for the favorite fishes. Of course, the effect of this sudden transition might seem a little abrupt, but you get the idea. It's going to work well for you, one way or another. Mars energy has to be handled with a degree of caution, and that's what this month's advice is all about. It's like handling something with a really sharp cutting edge, a filet knife comes to mind, and the fact that opening up fish to remove the less important parts (not used in cooking) is not something that should be done without degree of care. So whether you're opening up a fish this month, or you're opening up the viscera of a particular person with your razor sharp tongue, be careful. I was tempted to use the the very British epithet, "bloody careful" but that carries the metaphor too far. But do exercise caution, you get a degree of relief, but that's no reason to skewer anyone else.
